II. HIATUS
As mods, we understand that life just happens sometimes. Be it busy holidays, emergencies, school, work, burnout/stress, etc., taking a break is perfectly fine. Please try to pay attention to the rules below, as failure to follow them could end up with your characters accidentally dropped when the next activity check rolls around.
ONE. Hiatuses can last from a few days up to three weeks. When posting your hiatus, please include an estimated date of return. We understand that these are merely estimations and will not hold you to that date specifically, but it makes doing the activity check easier on us.
i.e. If your return date is the 30th, and a check is done on the 2nd you'll be given until the next check to post, we're less likely to be lenient if you return on the 30th and the next check isn't until the 10th, but all hiatuses are handled on an individual case by case basis.
TWO. You must have a week between hiatuses*. Therefore, no coming back from a three-week long hiatus, staying for two days, and leaving again. Life does happen, yes, but if it continues to happen, we're likely to request that you drop your characters to open them up for someone else.
THREE. When going on hiatus, you must post to this thread, or in your character journals. If you only post in the OOC community, it will not be noted. We've tried to do that in the past, but the posts get swallowed up quickly and it takes far too long to dig for them. You might just come back from hiatus to discover some of your characters have been kicked because you didn't post here or in the journals themselves.
FOUR. When using this post, simply copy and paste the following text and input your info. Please leave your comments, we will delete them ourselves when the time comes.
FIVE. If you go on hiatus and we hear/see that you're still active in other communities, we're not likely to be very lenient with leaving you off the activity check.
*This does not mean you can take a three week hiatus, idle around for a week and then take another three week hiatus once seven days has passed. You must post for your character at least once between hiatuses.

Hiatus entries are left up for one month from the hiatus end, to avoid any confusion about when a player returned.
